The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Human Capital Investment Project (KPHCIP) builds on a global effort to accelerate more and better investments in people for greater equity and economic growth. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa hosts the highest number of refugees in Pakistan (822,429 Afghan refugees; 38 percent of which are children between the ages of 5-18). More than half of the refugees’ population of KP lives in the four urban districts of Peshawar, Nowshera, Haripur, and Swabi.
Considering the deterioration of human capital and the burden of Afghan refugees, the World Bank has approved the "Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Human Capital Investment Project," which is divided into two parts
Part-A: Supporting the Health Sector i-e KP-HCIP Health
Part-B: Supporting the Education Sector i-e KP-HCIP Education
